The situation
Operational reporting needed to draw on data across separate AWS accounts, under a data governance regime that would be reviewed before anything went live.

What we did
Cross-account AWS Lake Formation permissions, Iceberg tables and Athena for query, with lineage and access documented to the standard the review required.

What changed
The platform passed governance review and became the basis for the department's advanced reporting.
